Maya cosmetics

good morning! a few weeks ago won my first giveaway over at things i love at the moment, the prizes were 3 polishes from Maya cosmetics , these are my very first indies and now i finally understand everyones obsession! i do feel like a kid thats only allowed just 1 candy on halloween because i can't make online purchases! ( or any kind of  money spending LOL) *sad sad panda*   I'm so happy with the colors she chose as my prize. ill have swatches of these in the next few days , Ive been waiting for sunlight so you can see how pretty these are but we've had none ;(

Dia de Los muertos

Today i have something super cute to share with you! since today is "the day of the dead " i decided to do a sugar skull mani. i really like they way they turned out , its the first time i try any kind of nail art on myself i think i did pretty good! it did take me about 2hrs just to do two fingers LOL for some reason i turned perfectionist while doing these and my eye sockets kept coming out uneven  -.-" 

sorry for the crappy pix ( again) but its really really cold out so no outside for me , also the nails might look a bit worn, i did these about 2 days ago , i was cleaning and doing dishes i just stopped to take  these before there was nothing left , hope you like them

i love how bright it all turned out :)

as you can see i did these backwards and mr ring finger got smudged , but its ok because its my right hand!

PS. how do you like the new look of the blog? im still working on it have to add more stuff, let me know if eveything works for you , i know i  dont like blogs that are difficult to browse so i wanna keep things simple.

"Witches Brew"

Happy halloween! so, this was a bit of a disaster. it was way too late and the lighting in my apt sucks. i think i was a little too ambitious when it came to the design ( my nail beds are small so less is more) and i might have went a lil nuts with the glitter LOL. clean up was an epic fail , my fault not the polish. anywho  i decided i want to add my "fails" also because everyone has to start somewhere




i promise it looked better in person, the camera goes nuts with glitter and the flash didnt help :(

base color is sinful colors mezmerize ( a deep eggplant color , nothing like this picture )

so thats it, what do you think? be nice.... hahaha . i think im going to build one of those DIY light boxes since its way to cold to take pictures outside.

First attempt at Halloween nail art ( practice)

today i have some Halloween nail art to share, this is my first attempt at anything Nail art and at any of the techniques ill show you , I'm not all that good at it so be nice LOL. i also have to say that my kittens got a hold of my finished wheel sooo..yea ...  these are just practice, i plan on doing full Mani's with each of there soon .OK , no more talky let see some (not so pretty) pix ;b

first we have my ghosts and dots , the dot nail would be an accent to the ghosts , the ghosts had red micro marbles for eyes but my boyfriend got curious and picked them off while it was wet LOL

on ghost nail : Orly liquid vinyl and white acrylic paint
polka dot nail: wet n wild mega shine-red,red and black  acrylic paint 

Next i have Blood splatter mixed with the "spun sugar technique" which is at the bottom of the right nail ( mix polish on a dish with a toothpick until it thickens and pull stings of polish up  and over the nail" this was really easy! i thinned the red polish w some remover and use one of those  inexpensive plastic art brush and tapped at the end till i was happy w the splatter, it seems easier then the straw splatter

base color: wet n wild mega last "private viewing"
splatter ( bright red) wet n wild "red red" and finger paints "Bauhaus burgundy" (dark red)

             Candy corn spun sugar fail  and framed sponged gradient ( not very creative w names , eh?) 

this one i like alot, i tried doing the spun sugar thingy again and failed so i just dragged the polish around w a toothpick , for the white i used watered down white acrylic paint ( can you believe i don't own a white polish!!) and the top coat smeared it, i still like it . it reminds me of the water color technique.

for the nail on the right i use a piece of couch cushion (LOL) and just stippled on orange and white over yellow and framed it all with gold holo hex glitter

base: wet n wild fast dry "sagreena the teenage witch " and Orly  flash glam fx glitter "mermaid tales"

another favorite , and super easy just sponge all your colors till your happy with the way it looks! btw this looks way better in person

 and that's it, all of this was done with a tooth pick and a piece of an couch stuffing while my cats tried to steal my things lol . let me know what you think :)

Spolied By Wet n Wild " trust fund baby"

"trust fund baby"  is a glitter top coat. it has blue, gold and black hexes with pink squares all in a clear base.

You can build it up to semi-opaque coverage in 3-4 coats, i actually did 5 coats ;  there's a reason why they call me Lola Sparklez!! well... nobody actually calls me Lola Sparklez * sigh *  LOL

 its pretty easy to apply i didn't have any problems with the glitter dragging to the tip

the horrible bubbling you see is from the seche vite , im at the crappy part of the bottle and honestly i wont be repurchasing.
